Li-Fi Technology, A new way of data transmission

We all know about Wi-Fi. The person who has not used Wi-Fi is very rare. Wi-Fi is widely used in offices, homes and various factories etc. So without Wi-Fi we can’t even think. But those users, who have become bored by using Wi-Fi, must be very happy to know about the latest invention of science in the field of data transmission, that is Li-Fi technology.

Li-Fi has the ability to transfer data 100 times faster than Wi-Fi technology. Mainly Li-Fi technology is welcomed in the technology market by Velmenni organization in Estonia .In Tallinn, the capital of Estonia some industries and offices are using this technology as a trial. The average speed is 1 GB per second approximate. But in laboratory test the speed can be expanded up to 228 GB per second. So just think of the lightning speed of that technology. HD Blu-ray movie can be downloaded within seconds.

Mr. Dipak Solanki, CEO of Velmenni, has enlightened on that topic and according to him the technology requires 3-4 years more to spread throughout the world. The Li-Fi was first introduced in 2011, but it is under testing until last of 2015.

Though the Li-Fi technology is not so popular but we can understand the working principle of that technology. This technology requires light. The frequency of the light is very near to the frequency of light which is visible. The Li-Fi is also known as “Visible light Communication”. In easy speaking the connection should be made by LED light bulbs. Which means the connection can be setup where the light is available.

The Li-Fi has some advantages also. Like Wi-Fi we are not using radio frequency rather we are using light spectrum which is 10,000 times faster than Wi-Fi transmission frequency spectrum. So from this point the faster network can be created. But it also have some disadvantages are also. Wi-Fi radio frequency can penetrate the wall, it can be transmitted through many different mediums but Li-Fi is not capable of that. As we know the visible light frequency cannot penetrate the wall, so the in that cases Li-Fi technology network setup is not possible. We can also compare the both technology according to the security. We know that Li-Fi can’t be access where visible light is not available. So from this concept the Li-Fi network is very safe and secure too. The chance of being hacked is very low indeed.

But after few years we will get the devices in the market to use this connection. And we will get the facilities too.
